  Chat with authors about their work and inspiration\, browse books for adu
 lts and kids\, and get the opportunity to purchase signed copies directly 
 from the authors. Whether you're an avid reader\, an aspiring writer\, or 
 wanting to offer support for our local writing community\, Local Author Da
 y offers something for everyone!</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>Author Applicati
 ons</strong></p>\n<p>Due to growing interest and limited event space\, par
 ticipation is now determined through an application process. Submission of
  an application does not guarantee acceptance.<br />While&nbsp\;all&nbsp\;
 authors are encouraged to apply\, preference will be given to authors who 
 reside within 20 miles of Wichita city limits.</p>\n<p>Applications will b
 e evaluated based on several factors\, including:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>The varie
 ty of genres represented &nbsp\;</li>\n<li>If the applicant has published 
 a book within the last 3-5 years&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>If the applicant has an 
 active social media presence used for professional purposes&nbsp\;</li>\n<
 li>If the applicant has a professional\, up-to-date website&nbsp\;</li>\n<
 li>The amount of positive book reviews the applicant's book(s) have receiv
 ed&nbsp\;</li>\n<li>If\, and to what extent\, the applicant uses generativ
 e-AI tools (such as ChatGPT\, Google Gemini\, etc.) to produce their books
 \, particularly in areas related to creative output such as cover design\,
  wording\,&nbsp\;story&nbsp\;or character ideas).&nbsp\;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><
