About the Program: Since 1868\, Florida&rsquo\;s oldest continually \;operating African America n high school has been destroyed\, rebuilt\, \;and moved. It has also gone under \;several name \;changes\, reflecting the change in foc us over the years&ndash\;Old Stanton High School\, New Stanton High School \, Stanton Vocational School\, and \;now\, \;Stanton College Prepa ratory School. \;Stanton \, \;by Ronald E. Galvin\, Grace Brown Galvin (deceased)\, and Tif fany Galvin Green\, Ph.D.\, gives a pictorial history of the buildings\, f aculty\, student life\, and traditions that have left an indelible mark on African American life in Jacksonville through the years\, reflecting also \;on \;Stanton&rsquo\;s \;evolution into a nationally recogni zed diverse student body of the highest academic caliber. Ronald Galvin wi ll present an overview of the history of Stanton and describe the process of compiling records and photos \;to provide material for \;writin g \;the book \;with his wife and daughter. \; \;
\n< strong>About the Presenter: \;Jacksonville native Ronald E. G alvin is the co-author of \;Stanton \;along with his wife\, the la te Grace Brown Galvin\, and his daughter\, Tiffany Galvin Green\, Ph.D. Ro nald is \;an alumnus \;of the New Stanton High School Class of 196 2. He is a graduate of West Virginia State College and worked in the field of pharmaceutical sales for Eli Lilly and Company for almost forty years. He was in the Stanton marching band and meets regularly with members of t he Class of 1962. \;Ronald and \;his family worked tirelessly \;to collect \;photographs \;and other \;contributions \;f rom school records \;as well as from \;alumni \;and \;prev ious \;staff and faculty\, \;to write \;Stanton. \;
