  decades\, Deborah "Dee" Evans has been a driving force in the movement to
  preserve and honor the legacy of Juneteenth. As the founder of Juneteenth
  Nevada and a national leader within the NJOF\, her tireless advocacy was 
 instrumental in the 2023 landmark legislation that officially established 
 Juneteenth as a Nevada state holiday.</p>\n<p>Beyond her legislative achie
 vements\, Dee is a dedicated community builder. Her work focuses on bridgi
 ng history with the future through:</p>\n<p>Educational Outreach: Ensuring
  the true story of June 19\, 1865\, remains a central part of our cultural
  consciousness.<br />Youth Empowerment: Mentoring the next generation of l
 eaders through the Miss Juneteenth Nevada program and various youth initia
 tives.<br />Cultural Celebration: Coordinating large-scale events that cel
 ebrate freedom\, resilience\, and the richness of African American heritag
 e.<br /><br />With over 28 years of grassroots leadership\, Dee continues 
 to expand the reach of Juneteenth Nevada\, turning a historical milestone 
 into a year-round movement for education\, unity\, and progress.</p>\n<p>T
