X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Liv Rondeau is an artist of mixed&nbsp\;Ka
 nyen&rsquo\;keh&aacute\;:ka\, Irish\, and French-Canadian heritage\, raise
d in the Niagara Region. Her lineage carries both&nbsp\;Kanyen&rsquo\;keh&
aacute\;:ka&nbsp\;and Irish roots through her mother\, and French-Canadian
heritage through her father. Like many Indigenous families\, Liv&rsquo\;s
story is one of reconnection&mdash\;held with care and approached with mi
ndfulness to ensure it is guided by community and done with intention.&nbs
p\;</p>\n<p>With humility and respect\, Liv is reconnecting with her&nbsp\
;Kanyen&rsquo\;keh&aacute\;:ka&nbsp\;heritage through the teachings of her
maternal grandfather. She is a member of the&nbsp\;Kenht&egrave\;:ke&nbsp
 \;Longhouse\, where&nbsp\;she sits&nbsp\;with the Wolf Clan\, and grounds
her work as an artist and scholar in the principles of the Great Law of Pe
ace.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Liv&rsquo\;s beadwork practice brings together traditi
onal Haudenosaunee raised techniques and contemporary methods to create de
tailed\, three-dimensional designs that honour Haudenosaunee artistry. Roo
ted in relationships\, her pieces have been shared with Indigenous Matriar
chs and Patriarchs across Turtle Island.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Through community
 workshops\, Liv shares beadwork&nbsp\;as a way to&nbsp\;foster connection\
, support well-being\, and carry forward stories.&nbsp\;Her practice is pa
rt of a larger commitment to cultural resurgence\, supporting the continua
tion of Haudenosaunee traditions for future generations.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Ma
ke It Happen&nbsp\;is a bi-weekly program that brings community experts in
to the Library to teach useful hands-on skills. No previous experience nec
essary.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Kin
 gston Frontenac Public Library.</p>\nhttps://kfpl.libnet.info/event/160545
