 n Notable Books Author Tour&nbsp\;highlights authors whose engaging works 
 were chosen as the 2026 Michigan Notable Books. This program with Cheryl N
 eely\, author of <em>No Human Involved: The Serial Murder of Black Women a
 nd Girls and the Deadly Cost of Police Indifference</em>\,&nbsp\;is one of
  the Michigan Notable Books' visits scheduled throughout the state.&nbsp\;
 </p>\n<p>The 2026 Michigan Notable Books program and Author Tour are made 
 possible thanks to the generous support of the Library of Michigan\, the L
 ibrary of Michigan Foundation\, and Michigan Humanities\, an affiliate of

 h3>Author's Bio</h3>\n<p>Cheryl L. Neely&nbsp\;is a sociology professor at
  Oakland Community College in Royal Oak\, Michigan\, where she teaches cou
 rses in Sociology and Criminology. She is the author of&nbsp\;Y<em>ou&rsqu
 o\;re Dead&mdash\;So What?: Media\, Police\, and the Invisibility of Black
  Women as Victims of Homicide</em>\, which won the Gold Medal Midwest Book
