 rong></p>\n<p>In The Risk It Takes to Bloom\, acclaimed activist Raquel Wi
 llis chronicles her journey from her upbringing in Augusta\, Georgia\, to 
 becoming a nationally recognized advocate for equality. Growing up in a su
 pportive yet traditional family\, Raquel worked to understand her identity
  while navigating the complexities of expectation\, belonging\, and self-e
 xpression.</p>\n<p>Her college years and early career brought pivotal mome
 nts&mdash\;finding community\, processing profound loss\, and stepping ful
 ly into her truth. As a journalist during key social justice movements\, R
 aquel used her platform to amplify marginalized voices and speak openly ab
 out the challenges facing transgender communities.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>From t
 he 2017 Women&rsquo\;s March to leadership roles in national LGBTQ+ organi
 zations\, Raquel offers a candid\, thoughtful look at what it means to liv
