 ucator\, and writer will take participants on a stroll down the Blue Cypre
 ss Park boardwalk. The city-owned park in the Arlington section of Jackson
 ville\, was at one time an 18-hole golf course for the Edenfield River Est
 ates development. Because the park is located in an environmentally sensit
 ive area\, plans were developed to reduce the course to a 9-hole golf cour
 se and use the remaining area for a natural\, resourced-based public outdo
 or recreation site. Clay will talk about local conservation efforts and th
 e flora and fauna that can be found along the banks of the St. Johns River

 r its protection.</p>\n<p>Clay Henderson is an award-winning environmental
  lawyer\, educator\, and writer long involved in environmental policy. He 
 has served as president of Florida Audubon Society and Florida Trust for H
 istoric Preservation. His previous public service includes Florida Constit
 ution Revision Commission\, Florida Communities Trust\, and Chair of the V
 olusia County Council. Until his retirement\, he served as Executive Direc
 tor of the Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience at Stetson Uni
 versity. He has been recognized with the national public service award fro
 m The Nature Conservancy\, lifetime achievement award from Environment and
  Land Use Section of the Florida Bar\, and Florida Trust for Historic Pres
 ervation\, and an EMMY award for the documentary Protect Our Paradise. He 
 has published four books\, including Forces of Nature\, an environmental h
 istory of Florida\, which received the Stetson Kennedy Florida Book Award.
 </p>\n<p>This is an 8-part series consisting of a variety of library progr
 ams on conservation and the environment with the Duval Audubon Society\, N
 orth Florida Land Trust\, and the St. Johns Riverkeeper.</p>\n<p><img src=
