\, Me\," a timely affirmation for Black women in a world that has underval
 ued them for centuries..\nhttps://gwinnettpl.libnet.info/event/16206804
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>In <em>Love\, Me\,</em> Cross brings to li
fe the souls of Black women today. In the face of a failing democracy\, dw
indling opportunity\, and elusive love\, she tells the story of how we\, w
omen of accomplishment and endurance\, relentlessly use our humanity to pr
 eserve ourselves\, our culture\, and civilization.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Bold and
provocative\, Cross invites Black women to go from hopeless to hopeful as
we fight to achieve our dreams\, secure the love we deserve\, and preserv
e the home we built. She argues that we must repair our personhood and soc
iety\, and that starts with giving ourselves something to believe in. Cros
s takes us on an intimate journey through the internal and external battle
s we face\, illuminating community and critiquing the politics of being a
Black woman today.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>With a blend of humor\, pathos\, and har
d-hitting cultural analysis\, Cross tackles issues like race\, relationshi
 ps\, sex\, family\, economics\, health\, labor\, and love. By bringing Bla
ck women to the forefront\, she honors not just her story\, but our story.
