In 1924\, the Metropolitan Museum of Art o fficially opened its American Wing\, providing a special focus and celebra tion of American works. Today\, the American Wing houses some of the museu m&rsquo\;s most beloved pieces\, such as Leutze&rsquo\;s Washington Cr ossing the Delaware\, Gilbert Stuart&rsquo\;s iconic portrait of Geor ge Washington\, and Louis Comfort Tiffany&rsquo\;s dramatic three-part win dow\, Garden Landscape. This lecture will discuss these pieces an d other important works from the collection.

Mallory Mortillaro is an art historian and educator. She has ten years of teaching experience a nd has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizatio ns in the New York metropolitan area.
