DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by author and teacher Rick Holinger\, this worksho
p welcomes writers of all abilities and genres. This month's topic: Detail
 s.\nhttps://geneva.libnet.info/event/16240191
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Discussion topic: This month&rsquo\;s topi
c explores a common piece of writing advice: writers often &ldquo\;overtel
l&rdquo\; instead of letting dialogue and action speak for themselves.&nbs
p\;The discussion will look at when description becomes too much telling\,
when writers should trust readers to fill in the blanks\, and how that ca
n deepen a reader&rsquo\;s investment in the story. We will also consider
how much writers should describe the physical characteristics of their cha
racters.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The Night Writers Workshop discusses various topic
s within writing and provides a welcoming environment for peer feedback. T
he program is organized into two sections: critique of submitted manuscrip
ts and discussion of writing topics. For more information on submitting a
 manuscript\, please visit&nbsp\;<span style="color: #00a3b2\;"><span style
