  a variety of mixed-media approaches to art! Mixed media can unlock a vari
 ety of textures\, styles\, and imaginative avenues. We will discuss the co
 mbination of materials that complement one another and how to achieve succ
 essful compositions through a range of media. We will learn from artists w
 ho have mixed-media practices\, as well as create compositions of our own.
  Students will have the opportunity to work from reference imagery as well
  more abstractly. Participants of all skill levels are invited to join thi
 s course. Students are welcome to bring in any supplies they would like to
  experiment with\, aside from toxic or disruptive substances (such as oil 
 paints\, spray paints\, etc.). Supplies are limited.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><em>Ab
 out the Instructor:&nbsp\;</em></p>\n<p><em>Lindsay is an artist fascinate
 d by the layered relationships humans have with outdoor spaces\, especiall
 y those shaped by American tendencies to romanticize nature. She&nbsp\;typ
 ically creates paintings inspired by local fragments of landscape\,&nbsp\;
 often incorporating&nbsp\;sculptural elements in her process. Originally f
 rom Bucks County\, Pennsylvania\, she now lives and works in Arlington\, V
 irginia. Mueller holds a BFA in Painting and a BA in Psychology from Bosto
 n University and an MFA in Visual Arts from American University. She has e
 xhibited across the East Coast at venues including the University of Mary 
 Washington\, Adah Rose Gallery\, the Peale Museum\, and Chautauqua Institu
 tion. In 2023 she received the Bethesda Painting Young Artist Award\, and 
 she was a 2025 Sondheim Art Prize semifinalist. She is currently an artist
 -in-residence at MoCA Arlington.</em>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The program is in par
 tnership with <strong>Iona Senior Services</strong> and <strong>Around Tow
 n DC</strong> and is funded by the <strong>DC Department of Aging and Comm
 unity Living</strong> for DC residents 60 and up. Please register for this
