Before moving to Giverny to focus on his b eloved gardens\, Claude Monet lived in rural towns such as Vé\;theui l and Poissy. Between 1878 and 1883\, he returned from Paris to the Norman dy coast\, where he was raised and possessed an intimate familiarity. Ther e\, the rural landscapes and seascapes of Normandy were his main preoccupa tion. In this presentation\, artist and art historian Denise Laurin takes you to the dramatic vistas that inspired Monet and discusses the developme nt of his Impressionist technique that led to later masterpieces such as h is Waterlilies.
