ary Artists is harnessing the power of
the arts as a tool for healin
g and empowering youth impacted by serious illnesses\, disabilities\,
and complex mental health\, developmental or medical needs. The storytel
ling collaboration
begins when kids and teens are interviewed about
who they are beyond their diagnosis and how
they want to make a posi
tive difference in the world. Each child is matched with an illustrator wh
o
designs the heroic alter ego they describe &ndash\; visual represe
ntations of their strength\, courage and
creativity. Hear how illust
rators tackle the challenge of taking art direction from a child and
celebrating their differences\, and how this new pantheon of young superh
eroes can change the
world.
\n
This workshop will be facilitate
