After a short demonstration\, add paint to your gel plate! You'll use different materials to add texture and design to the paint on your plate\, and practice planning\, layering\, and sequen cing to create unique prints. \;

Kaylee has a Master of Arts in Teaching and has taught gr
ades K&ndash\;12. Currently\, Kaylee teaches Community Education classes i
n gel plate printing\, collage\, and card making at Peninsula College. She
also teaches for the Peninsula Performs program through Field Arts and Ev
ents Hall. She believes that some of our most meaningful learning comes th
rough play\, exploration\, practice\, and repetition. Kaylee's approach em
phasizes the importance of releasing both expectations and attachment to s
pecific outcomes. The key to growing creativity is to dive in and be brave
enough to make mistakes (and lousy prints) so that we can learn and disco
ver new things along the way. Gel printing is a fabulous and freeing way t
o boost our creative confidence due to its unique element of surprise...yo
u never know quite what you will end up with! \;

Discovery Club is a weekly summer program f
or kids in grades K&ndash\;5 and their families/caregivers. From art to sc
ience\, kids will find many ways to have fun\, meet new friends\, and try
new things. \;Children must be accompanied by an adult.
