Its dramatic ar chitecture\, its \;diverse neighborhoods and populations\, its univers ally \;recognized landmarks\, its 24/7 lifestyle\, and its 8 million&n bsp\;stories have helped make the city a featured player in more \;tha n 17\,000 movies&mdash\;including such memorable films as King \;Kong\ , Naked City\, On the Town\, West Side Story\, Breakfast at Tiffany&rsquo\ ;s\, Taxi Driver\, \;Wall Street\, and Do the Right Thing. Illustrated with more than 50 clips\, this \;presentation demonstrates the changi ng ways New York has been captured on film\, \;and why it still remain s a star attraction today.
\nAbout the Presenter: B RIAN ROSE is a professor emeritus at Fordham University\, where he taught for 38 years in the \;Department of Communication and Media Studies. H e&rsquo\;s written several books on television history and \;cultural programming\, and conducted more than a hundred Q&\;A&rsquo\;s with lea ding directors\, actors\, and writers \;for the Academy of Motion Pict ure Arts &\; Sciences\, the Screen Actors Guild\, the British Academy o f Film and \;Television Arts\, and the Directors Guild of America.
