 ate increased wildfire potential in Central Oregon\, public fire use restr
 ictions (aka campfire bans) are put in place on federal public lands\, lik
 e the Deschutes National Forest. These fire restrictions help reduce the c
 hance of human-caused wildfire starts.</p>\n<p>Join staff from the Deschut
 es National Forest to explore ways to make sure your next camping trip has
  excellent ambiance and tasty s&rsquo\;mores even without a campfire. The 
 fire prevention staff will share why Central Oregon public lands move into
  personal use fire restrictions when the summer gets a little too hot and 
 dry. Staff will provide fun campfire alternative ideas and a chance to mak
 e your own non-campfire s&rsquo\;more! So even on those nights when you ca
 n't have a campfire\, you can still enjoy a unique and memorable outdoor e

 he Deschutes National Forest encompasses 1.6 million acres spanning from t
 he Diamond Peak Wilderness north through the Newberry National Volcanic Mo
 nument\, Three Sisters Wilderness and extending to the Metolius Basin and 
 Mt. Jefferson Wilderness. The Forest includes more than 100 developed camp
 grounds\, over 2\,200 miles of trail\, five Wilderness areas\, and six Wil
