Become a "Dementia Friend" by attending t he informational session to learn about this worldwide movement\, about li ving with dementia\, and the simple things you can do to support someone l iving with the disease. The one-hour session will be a discussion led by D ementia Friends Champion\, Heather Pender. You&rsquo\;ll learn what dement ia is\, what it&rsquo\;s like to live with the disease\, and some tips for communicating with people who have dementia. Everyone who attends is aske d to turn their new understanding of dementia into practical action that c an help someone living in your community. The action can be as big or as s mall as you choose&mdash\;every action counts! You don&rsquo\;t need to be a dementia expert\, or know someone with dementia\, to become a Dementia Friend. After you attend the session\, you decide about becoming a Dementi a Friend: it&rsquo\;s your choice. This informational session is free-of-c harge\, and registration is not required.
