In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniv ersary of the United States\, DC Public Library is partnering with Story District to invite residents t o share your stories about why you love D.C.!

Join us at the
Northeast Neighborhood Library on Thursday\, June 11\, at 6pm to learn th
e fundamentals of personal narrative while exploring your own experiences
of showing up for your community and being part of the evolving story of D
.C. Through guided exercises\, you'll identify source material from your l
ife\, practice in pairs and small groups\, and receive optional feedback i
n a supportive environment. The program will occur in Meeting Room 2.

The I LOVE D.C. storytelling swap is an opportunity for r
esidents to reflect on the everyday acts of participation\, community-buil
ding\, and civic engagement that shape our shared democracy. Instead of fo
cusing on historic milestones\, this program highlights the stories of ord
inary people&mdash\;neighbors\, caregivers\, volunteers\, organizers\, and
engaged citizens&mdash\;whose contributions form the backbone of civic li
fe.
All are invited to join even if you've never 'told' a story be fore. Reservations are encouraged but not required.
