In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniv ersary of the United States\, DC Public Library is partnering with Story District to invite residents t o share your stories about why you love D.C.!
\nJoin us at the South west Neighborhood Library on Thursday\, June 18\, at 6pm to learn the fund amentals of personal narrative while exploring your own experiences of sho wing up for your community and being part of the evolving story of D.C. Th rough guided exercises\, you'll identify source material from your life\, practice in pairs and small groups\, and receive optional feedback in a su pportive environment. The program will occur in the large meeting room.
\nThe I LOVE D.C. storytelling swap is an opportunity for residents to reflect on the everyday acts of participation\, community-building\, and civic engagement that shape our shared democracy. Instead of focusing on h istoric milestones\, this program highlights the stories of ordinary peopl e&mdash\;neighbors\, caregivers\, volunteers\, organizers\, and engaged ci tizens&mdash\;whose contributions form the backbone of civic life.
\nAll are invited to join even if you've never 'told' a story before. Reser vations are encouraged but not required. \; \;
