Participants will learn a variety of tie-d ye techniques using eco-friendly\, plant-based materials to create one-of- a-kind wearable pieces. Through guided instruction from U of A School of A rt students\, participants will experiment with different tying methods to produce unique patterns\, as well as explore dyeing techniques such as bu ndle dye\, dip dye\, and ice dye. Using natural dyes derived from plants a nd organic materials\, this activity encourages creativity while introduci ng sustainable art practices.
\nEach participant will design and dye a bandana or T-shirt&mdash\;perfect\, personalized items for summer. No p rior experience is needed\, and materials will be provided while t hey last. Participants can bring something from home\, too\, whet her that be an old t-shirt\, tote bag\, or other fabric item they would li ke to repurpose and customize during the session. Participants will leave with their finished creations and new skills they can continue exploring a t home. No registration required.
