Learn the fundamentals of hand weaving usi ng a simple cardboard loom\, a tapestry needle\, and yarn. \;Cardboard loom weaving translates directly to the principles of larger frame or flo or loom weaving - warp\, weft\, over-under structure\, tension\, and patte rn - but requires no specialist equipment and no prior experience\, making it an accessible way to learn the fundamentals. \;

In this session\, participants will learn how to prepare their own cardboa rd loom\, dress their own warp\, and begin weaving a small textile sample. A variety of yarn in different weights\, textures\, and colours will be p rovided. Shiemara \;will introduce vocabulary from weaving traditions around the world\, inviting participants to reflect on the role weaving ha s played in cultures globally and within their own family histories and co mmunities. \; \;

This workshop creates space to honour and discuss weaving as a living inheritance for all of us. Each par ticipant will leave with a small woven piece to take home\, along with the materials and instructions to continue weaving independently. Open to all ages\, no experience \;is needed.
