X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Learn about coiling\, one of the oldest kn
 own textile construction methods\, practised in basket-making traditions&n
 bsp\;among&nbsp\;indigenous&nbsp\;Canadian makers&nbsp\;and&nbsp\;cultures
  in Africa\, North America\, Asia\, and beyond.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br />&nbsp\;
 <br />Using provided and upcycled materials&nbsp\;including&nbsp\;fabric s
 trips\, repurposed yarn\, cord\, and textile offcuts\,&nbsp\;participants
 will learn the coiling technique by constructing a small coiled basket or
 flat rug.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br />&nbsp\;<br />Coiling requires no loom\, no ma
 chinery\, and no cutting beyond basic preparation. The materials are delib
 erately sourced from what already exists\, making this workshop an explora
 tion of sustainability and&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br />resourcefulness alongside cr
 aft skill. The rhythmic\, repetitive nature of coiling makes it especially
  well-suited to intergenerational groups: accessible and meditative\, with
  forms that can be as simple or as complex as each participant's comfort a
 llows.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br />&nbsp\;<br />Participants are encouraged to brin
 g any fabric scraps or yarn they wish to incorporate into their own piece.
  Open to all ages\, no experience is needed. Presented in partnership with
  the Brampton Arts Organization. Registration required.</p>\nhttps://braml
