DESCRIPTION:Books and Brunch book club meets on the third Saturday of each
month at 11:30 am. This month\, we are reading 'Everything Is Tuberculosi
 s' by John Green. .\nhttps://ccpl.libnet.info/event/16474029
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Tuberculosis has been entwined with humani
ty for millennia. Once romanticized as a malady of poets\, today tuberculo
sis is seen as a disease of poverty that walks the trails of injustice and
inequity we blazed for it.</p>\n<p>In 2019\, author John Green met Henry
Reider\, a young tuberculosis patient at Lakka Government Hospital in Sier
ra Leone. John became fast friends with Henry\, a boy with spindly legs an
d a big\, goofy smile. In the years since that first visit to Lakka\, Gree
n has become a vocal advocate for increased access to treatment and wider
awareness of the healthcare inequities that allow this curable\, preventab
le infectious disease to also be the deadliest\, killing over a million pe
ople every year.</p>\n<p>In&nbsp\;Everything Is Tuberculosis\, John tells
Henry&rsquo\;s story\, woven through with the scientific and social histor
ies of how tuberculosis has shaped our world&mdash\;and how our choices wi
ll shape the future of tuberculosis.</p>\n<p><img src="https://static.libn
