 exhibition&nbsp\;features large-scale oil paintings of familiar&nbsp\;prai
 rie&nbsp\;landscapes.&nbsp\;In his landscapes\,&nbsp\;Anderson includes ho
 rses&nbsp\;to explore themes of displacement and loss&nbsp\;using styles t
 hat make the horses feel out of place or disconnected within their environ
 ment. Horses have both&nbsp\;accompanied&nbsp\;and accelerated human migra
 tions&nbsp\;across continents through colonial&nbsp\;and commercial&nbsp\;
 trade.&nbsp\;Anderson&rsquo\;s work&nbsp\;invites&nbsp\;us&nbsp\;to look m
 ore closely at traditional\, stereotypical&nbsp\;Western scenes and to que
 stion what we think is natural.&nbsp\;This exhibition&nbsp\;also&nbsp\;hig
 hlights&nbsp\;Anderson&rsquo\;s piece Continental Drift: Herd-Bound And A 
 Long Way From Home\, a&nbsp\;new acquisition&nbsp\;to&nbsp\;the Regina Pub
 lic Library&nbsp\;Permanent Collection.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><br /><stron
 g>Bruce Anderson</strong> was born in Northern Alberta. He has lived his a
 dult life in Saskatchewan\, where he established a studio and full-time ar
 t practice after completing a Bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in history from the
  University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Univ
 ersity of Regina. Since completing his MFA\, he has developed a body of wo
 rk that reflects a childhood spent on agricultural research stations\, an 
 interest in the history of Western Canada\, and a love of images\, materia
 ls and visual discourse. He has consistently exhibited in group and solo e
 xhibitions\, both regionally and nationally\; sold work to public and priv
 ate collections\; received professional artist grants\; taught as an instr
 uctor in Visual Art at the University of Regina\; worked in various capaci
 ties in installation and collections at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regin
 a\; and maintained an ongoing presence in Regina&rsquo\;s arts community.<
