 County Historical Society will be coming to do a talk on his book\,&nbsp\;
 <em>The Beverly Hills Supper Club: The Untold Story Behind Kentucky's Wors
 t Tragedy</em>.</p>\n<p>This presentation covers a short history of Newpor
 t&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;Sin-City&rdquo\; era and discusses the history of the c
 lub\, from the illegal gambling casino of the 1930s-1960s to the club&rsqu
 o\;s rebirth in the 1970s. The tragic fire on May 28\, 1977\, which killed
  165 people\, is covered in great detail\, as is the initial investigation
  to determine a cause. The more recent re-investigation is also discussed.
