 tors are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and picnic on the grassy hill
 sides in Brand Park. Seats are not provided. Performances run 60 - 90 minu
 tes without intermission. Performances may be experienced by children and 
 families.</p>\n<p><strong>Carl Verheyen Band</strong> is a joyful\, uplift
 ing group of musicians to watch and hear. Besides the band&rsquo\;s celebr
 ated virtuosic musicianship\, four-part vocal harmony adds a new dimension
  to Carl&rsquo\;s lengthy musical catalog that spans over three decades. T
 heir concerts focus on new music as well as favorites from Carl&rsquo\;s a
 lbums dating back to 1988. Although all the music is rooted and informed b
 y the blues\, any single show combines rock\, jazz\, jam\, fusion and coun
 try music in both electric and acoustic settings. Fans of real music\, imp
 rovised and created in real time with no backing tracks or &ldquo\;playbac
 k&rdquo\; will enjoy the ride. Many fans join them &ldquo\;on the road&rdq
 uo\; in an effort to see multiple shows since no two are alike!</p>\n<p>Th
 e CVB will play songs from their new album as well as a selection of origi
 nal and non-original music from his 18-CD catalog. The focus is on Carl&rs
 quo\;s original approach to the guitar\, but set in the context of a wide 
 variety of styles and moods.</p>\n<p>---</p>\n<p>The series began in 2014 
 and is supported by the&nbsp\;Glendale Arts &amp\; Culture Commission\, th
 rough funding from the&nbsp\;Urban Art Program\, with support from&nbsp\;G
 lendale Library\, Arts &amp\; Culture\,&nbsp\;Glendale Community Services
