 d protecting our soils. Merikay will touch on specific native shrubs\, the
 ir growth habits and the benefits to our environment.</p>\n<p><strong>Spea
 ker Bio:</strong></p>\n<p>Merikay Smith became a Maryland&nbsp\;Master&nbs
 p\;Gardener&nbsp\;in 2007 and led the MCMG Speakers' Bureau. Merikay is a 
 Board member of Latter-day Saint Earth Stewardship\, launching their first
  local chapter here in 2016. Check out the native plant garden this local 
 chapter created at historic&nbsp\;<a href="http://www.eartheast.org/">Plea
 sant View</a>.&nbsp\;She has helped mentor an additional 11 new chapters o
 f LDSES located across the globe. Merikay has also served many years on th
 e Boards of both the Muddy Branch Alliance and Seneca Creek Stewardship Pa
 rtners\, recently as president of SCWP.</p>\n<p>Questions about this progr
