X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>When the oil boom in Enniskillen Township
slowed in the late 1800s\, the heart of the industry moved to the St. Clai
r River. This water highway linked local refineries to the world. This tal
 k explores how the river&rsquo\;s deep-water routes fueled Canada&rsquo\;s
oil industry. We will dive into the history of Imperial Oil&rsquo\;s tank
er fleets in 1897 and the Canadian Oil Company&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;marine ser
vice station&rdquo\; at Froomfield. We will also discuss the environmental
impact this growth had on the river. Come explore the stories of the ship
s and the systems that turned this river into one of Canada's most importa
 nt industrial corridors.</p>\n<p>Presented by Meagan Sinclair\, Curator/Su
