June 21\, 2026 is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day! It's a time to recognize and celebrate th e traditions\, cultures and contributions of First Nations\, Inuit and M&e acute\;tis. National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer sols tice\, the longest day of the year. For generations\, many First Nations\, Inuit and Mé\;tis communities have celebrated their cultures\, lang uages\, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds dee p spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples\, markin g a time of renewal\, connection\, and celebration.
\nThis year we i nvite you to join us at the library with facilitators Debbie Sykora and Ke llee Leader to learn about the importance of beading in Indigenous culture and try your hand at it! All materials will be supplied. Light refreshmen ts will be provided.
