Imagining Ecosystems in Creative W riting
\nThrough guided visualization and gentle movement\, you&rsquo\;ll tune into the body&rsquo\;s inner\, cellular landscape as a source of vivid imagery and imaginative attention.
\nYour inner exp erience then meets the outer world as we work with photographs of local en vironments and books from the library&rsquo\;s collection. These visual pr ompts open new pathways for writing about ecosystems&mdash\;real\, remembe red\, or entirely imagined.
\nThis workshop includes movement\, visu alization\, writing time\, and an optional opportunity to share your work aloud. We will expand the experience with time outdoors to observe and pho tograph the local landscape. You&rsquo\;ll return with your own images to use as creative prompts\, and you&rsquo\;ll leave with a short written pie ce or poem inspired by your explorations.
\nThis workshop is ideal f or anyone interested in poetry\, fiction\, or creative non-fiction\, and f or writers of all experience levels who want to deepen their connection to place\, imagination\, and the living systems around and within us.
\n< p>This workshop is available for up to 20 people aged 18+ \;who ar e interested in exploring writing in a variety of styles\, but especially poetry and creative fiction/non-fiction. Please note there is no catering provided but participants are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks .\nTicket prices: $40 or $20 for concession holders. \ ;
\nKim Sargent-Wishart is an artist\, researc
her and educator living on Wadawurrung Country\, Bellarine Peninsula with
an interest in living ecosystems\, both inner and outer. She specializes i
n somatic movement and dance education\, embodied anatomy\, somatic writin
g\, contemplative photography and dance improvisation. Through online and
in-person workshops\, Kim creates generous and generative spaces for movin
g\, thinking and collaboration. She is the co-editor of The Art of Emb
odiment (2021)\, and is self-publishing In Circulation\, a s
eries of field guides for creative practice.
