 Rock Mobile Makerspace is excited to participate in the Kids Zone for the 
 Mosaic Templars Cultural Center's<strong> Juneteenth in Da Rock</strong> c
 elebration.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>We will have a hands-on <span style="text-decor
 ation: underline\;">engineering/design activity</span>\, challenging parti
 cipants to create an object out of clay that can carry the most weight.</p
 >\n<p>This fun STEM challenge was inspired by the life and contributions o
 f U.S. Naval Engineer and Arkansas native\, <span style="text-decoration: 
 underline\;"><a href="https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/raye-jean
 -jordan-montague-5565/">Raye Jean Jordan Montague</a></span>.</p>\n<table

 rn in Little Rock during Jim Crow\, Raye was told she could never be an en
 gineer because she had three strikes against her\, being a black woman fro
 m the south.&nbsp\; Extraordinarily\, she overcame all of the odds and bar
 riers erected in her way to become the Navy's first female Program Manager
  of Ships\, a civilian rank equivalent to Captain.&nbsp\; &nbsp\;Raye is c
 redited with being the first person to draft a ship using Computer code\, 
 transforming the fields of Computer Science and Engineering\, while saving
  the Navy months in production and hundreds of manhours.&nbsp\; Montague w
 ould go on to&nbsp\;become division head of Computer Aided Design for the 
 Navy and designed Frigates\, the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier\, and Sea
