Local resident and author Louis L. Picone will discuss his book The The President Is Dead! \; It is fil led with never-before-told stories\, including a suggestion by one promine nt physician to resurrect George Washington from death by transfusing his body with lamb&rsquo\;s blood. You may have heard of a plot to rob Abraham Lincoln&rsquo\;s body from its grave site\, but did you know that there w as also attempts to steal Benjamin Harrison's and Andrew Jackson&rsquo\;s remains? The book also includes &ldquo\;Critical Death Information\,&rdquo \; which prefaces each chapter\, and a complete visitor&rsquo\;s guide to each grave site and death-related historical landmark. An &ldquo\;Almost P residents&rdquo\; section includes chapters on John Hanson (first presiden t under the Articles of Confederation)\, Sam Houston (former president of the Republic of Texas)\, David Rice Atchison (president for a day)\, and J efferson Davis. Exhaustively researched\, The President Is Dead! is richly layered with colorful facts and entertaining stories about how the presid ents have passed. \;

Grant&rsquo\;s Wo rld Tour at the Dawn of American Empire\, Grant's Tomb: The Epic Death of Ulysses S. Grant\, \;The Making of an American Pantheon\ , and The President Is Dead! The Extraordinary Stories of the Presiden tial Deaths\, Final Days\, Burials\, and Beyond. \; Louis is Chai rman of the Grover Cleveland Presidential Library &\; Museum in Caldwel l\, NJ. He holds a Masters in History and also teaches at William Paterson University. \; He has spoken widely about the presidents including th e US Grant Symposium\, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library\, White House Historical Association Presidential Sites Summit in Dallas\; James A. Garf ield National Historic Site in Ohio\; and the international conference "U. S. Presidents and Russian Rulers" at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Mo scow.
