St. Mary's County is home to numerous hist orical cemeteries. Reading these tombstones can be an important part of yo ur genealogical research. Even when not looking for ancestors\, exploring gravesites can teach us about those who came before us. In this session\, we will learn the proper etiquette for exploring historical gravesites\, w hat to look for on grave markers\, and how to properly take etchings of to mbstones.

We will also discuss how to look up grave registries at the state level. Special attention will be given regarding how to look up specific areas on internment at Arlington National Cemetary.
