\nHow do I sign up to perform?
\
n\n- Register ahead o
f time to secure a performance slot.
\n- If you&rsquo\;re not su
re about performing\, your participation as a listener is equally apprecia
ted! If you want to attend as an audience member only\, no need to registe
r.
\n- If you feel inspired to perform once you get here\, check in
with your hosts. We&rsquo\;ll save some slots for in-person signup

/ul>\nWill any equipment be provided?
\n\n- O
ur set-up includes three mics and one music stand.
\n- We'll also pr
ovide an amp for guitarists to plug into.
\n- There will be an AUX c
ord for people who want to perform over instrumental tracks.
\n- It
is not necessary to use the sound equipment&mdash\;the space will allow fo
r an acoustic set if you prefer.
\n- And that's it! Please do not br
ing any additional sound equipment.

\nAnything I sho
uld know before I perform or attend?
\n\n- For eight min
utes\, the mic is yours. For singers\, that&rsquo\;s enough time for two t
o three songs\, on average. For poets\, it will depend on the length of yo
ur pieces. Do not feel obligated to fill your entire time slot\, but do ta
ke care not to go over. \;
\n- Double-check that your pieces are
appropriate for a mixed-age audience (high school and older). If you&rsqu
o\;re not sure\, ask. Your set should not include any discriminatory or di
sturbing content. If people of any particular race\, gender\, disability\,
or other dimension of identity would feel unsafe or disrespected during y
our performance\, please adjust your material.
\n- Listen well! It i
s incredibly generous of performers to let us into their worlds. Honor the
ir vulnerability by staying quiet and attentive during performances. You n
ever know &ndash\; someone&rsquo\;s poem or song might contain the words y
ou didn&rsquo\;t even know you were waiting to hear.
\n- Please note
: Due to the special nature of this after-hours event\, \;re-e
ntry will not be possible during intermission. You are welcome to
leave early after checking in with the event&rsquo\;s hosts\, but re-entr
y will not be possible. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for
any inconvenience
