Artist's Statement

I was born in the Shadows of Motown &ndash\;
\nbeing from De troit and the surrounding area has shaped who I am since a young age. I ch ose to look at the world from a different angle &ndash\; to push boundarie s and observe through lenses filtered by patience and exploration. A child of schoolteachers\, I was encouraged to explore all venues of education a nd growth &ndash\; I eventually discovered creation of the Visual Arts was a personal choice for my reason of being. Through commissioned work in my teens\, I embraced the idea of creation as a career. I continue my work t hrough public\, private\, and individual institutions with commissions and donations to charitable causes\, creating pieces of varying media for Pre mio Publishing\, Next Stage Productions\, College for Creative Studies\, S pecs Howard School of Broadcast Arts\, SEGA of America\, Midway Games and Critical Moves.
\nI studied Visual Arts and Education formally at Mi chigan State University\, Eastern Michigan University\, College for Creati ve Studies and Savannah College of Art and Design\, learning technical asp ects of composition and imagery. I strive to market my work in ways that a ppeal to clients and provide me with a creative outlet for personal and ac ademic growth.
\nEach of my series and visual explorations is born f rom a desire to learn &ndash\; to explore different aspects of composition \, media\, materials\, technique\, and craft. Growth in understanding and skill is my overarching goal. I enjoy experimentation in themes and materi als\, and as a Visual Arts Educator\, I use my experiences creating and ma rketing my own work and transfer that knowledge to my varied students.

\n\nArtist's Bio
Jordan C Brun gr ew up in the Greater Detroit area\, by way of Rural Ohio\, and started his freelance art career at 14. Once he found out he could be paid for drawin g\, he was hooked. Jordan was educated at Michigan State University\, earn ing a BFA in Art Education\, his MA in Art Education at Eastern Michigan U niversity\, and his MFA in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
\nHe has worked in a variety of schools throughout the Unit ed States as a Visual Arts Teacher\, from Elementary to Higher Education\, teaching Foundations\, Drawing\, Painting\, Calligraphy\, Graphic Design\ , Photography\, Ceramics\, Sculpture\, Sequential Arts\, Theater\, Improvi sation\, and Illustration. Jordan illustrates a combination of satirical w it and dark humor\, with a variety of mixed traditional media and digital alterations. He has worked as an art director\, storyboard artist\, concep t artist\, actor\, stunt coordinator\, and spokesman for such companies su ch as SpaceX Starbase\, UpSchool\, Discovery Gateway Children&rsquo\;s Mus eum\, The Network\, SEGA of America\, Midway Games\, Nether Realm Studios\ , College for Creative Studies\, Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts\, C ritical Moves\, Premio Publishing\, M-1 Studios\, and Next Stage Productio ns\, as well as many independent contractors and individuals.
