\nLoretta Hagen i s a multi-award-winning singer songwriter based out of NJ. Her music is de scribed as heart tugging\, social conscious\, fun\, with poignant lyrics a nd catchy melodies sung with a soothing whiskey toned voice. Loretta has p erformed in many prestigious venues such as The Outpost In The Burbs\, Mus ic At The Mission\, Turning Point Cafe\, Town Crier\, Sellersville Theater \, as well as many music festivals\, and shared the stage with well-known artists such as Pete Seeger\, John Gorka\, Roger McGuinn\, Johnny Winter\, Kim Richie\, to name a few. Her husband Gary is her music partner and des cribed by fans as an extremely tasteful guitarist and producer. Both cut t heir teeth in Nashville for a number of years as well as the east coast. \nSkylands Songwri ters Guild is an educational 501(c)3 dedicated to nurturing the c ommunity of Singer/Songwriters of Northwest New Jersey and the surrounding region. We seek to provide enlightenment for the public\, revealing the t alents of songwriters\, and to offer educational and performance resources for artists to advance their craft. \; SSG seeks to provide an open a nd supportive atmosphere for aspiring amateurs through accomplished profes sionals.
The Guild will host learning and sharing events such as Ope n Mics\, coffeehouses\, song-craft workshops and seminars\, as well as sho wcases and festivals for performances. The Principals of the SSG are well established in the local independent artist community\, hosting many of th e events mentioned above. They seek to make the SSG a non-profit entity un to itself for the sole purpose of building community among those who creat e and those who appreciate!
