 ut the speaker</strong></h5>\n<p>Kate Hart is the author of&nbsp\;<em>Afte
 r the Fall</em>\, a young adult novel chosen by the Arkansas Center for th
 e Book as a 2017 Arkansas Gem. She has also contributed to many anthologie
 s\, including&nbsp\;<em>Legendary Frybread Drive-In</em>\, winner of the 2
 026 Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature\, the
  Odyssey Honor Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production\, &amp\; the A
 merican Indian Youth Literature Award for Best Young Adult Book\;&nbsp\;<e
 m>Never Whistle At Night</em>\, a national bestseller nominated for the Sh
 irley Jackson award\, the Bram Stoker award\, and the Locus award\; and yo
 ung adult collections&nbsp\;<em>Out Now</em>\,&nbsp\;<em>Body Talk</em>\,&
 nbsp\;<em>Toil and Trouble</em>\, and&nbsp\;<em>Hope Nation</em>.</p>\n<p>
 Before becoming a writer\, Kate earned degrees in Spanish and history at H
 endrix College\, taught preschool and middle school\, and wrote grants for
  a local nonprofit. She helped run YA Highway\, a three-time pick for Writ
 er's Digest's "101 Best Websites for Writers\,&rdquo\; and has appeared at
  conferences and festivals across the country\, including YALLWEST\, Imano
 li Writing Conference\, North Texas Teen Book Fair\, Arkansas Association 
 of Instructional Media\, Chicago Young Adult Book Festival\, and the Osher
  Lifelong Learning Institute.</p>\n<p>Born in Oklahoma and raised in Arkan
 sas\, Kate is a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation with Choctaw heritage and 
 an alumnus member of the Tulsa chapter of Matriarch. She lives on a mounta
 inside outside of Fayetteville\, where she also creates beadwork as Kate H
 art Studio and co-owns Natural State Treehouses with her spouse. Her liter
 ary work is represented by Alexandra Levick at Writers House. You can find
