Rising to popularity in the firs t half of the 19th century\, the sport hit a home run around the Civil War \, eventually becoming known as America's game\, or America's pastime. The Ohio Village Muffi ns &\; Diamonds are a group of enthusiastic lovers of the game who carry on the tradition of the sport as it was played in mid-nineteenth-cen tury America. Games are played against other vintage teams from Ohio and a cross the country\, as well as teams of local community members. Each seas on the Muffins play dozens of matches and travel all over Ohio and out-of- state.
