Before there were legends like Babe Ruth a nd Jackie Robinson\, there was Base Ball. Rising to popularity in the firs t half of the 19th century\, the sport hit a home run around the Civil War \, eventually becoming known as America's game\, or America's pastime. \nThe Ohio Village Muffins &\; Diamonds are a group of enthus iastic lovers of the game who carry on the tradition of the sport as it wa s played in mid-nineteenth-century America. Games are played against other vintage teams from Ohio and across the country\, as well as teams of loca l community members. Each season the Muffins play dozens of matches and tr avel all over Ohio and out-of-state.
