This month's Tales &\; Traditions featu res a recital and conversation with Clarke Buehling\, mentor in the Arkans as Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program\, and his mentee Ken T illery. They will perform banjo solos and duets of early finger-style banj o playing\, exploring the influence of nineteenth-century publications on country/folk playing and vice versa. \;

One of the foremost ex ponents of the nineteenth-century banjo\, Clarke Buehling has made numerou s recordings of old-time\, minstrel and classic finger-style banjo with Th e Skirtlifters\, the Old 78s\, and the Ozark Highballers string bands alon g with a solo album of gourd banjo music. Ken Tillery is a guitarist from Hot Springs. \;
