September is "Color Him Father" Month
\ nThe New York Fathering Conference Committee\, the White Plains Youth B ureau\, Grandpas United\, and JumpStart for Dads are proud to designate th e month of \;September as "Color Him Father" Month&mdash\;a month-long celebration recognizing the invaluable role fathers\, stepfathers\, grand fathers\, mentors\, and father figures play in the lives of children and f amilies.
\nThe theme\, \;Color Him Father\, is inspired by the c lassic R&\;B hit by \;The Winstons. The song tells the touching sto ry of a stepfather who marries a widow and lovingly raises her children af ter their biological father is killed in the war. In appreciation of his l ove\, sacrifice\, guidance\, and unwavering commitment\, the children prou dly proclaim\, \;"Color Him Father." \;The song remains a timeless tribute to the profound impact a caring father figure can have on a child 's life.
\nColor Him Father Month is more than a celebration&mdash\; it is a call to recognize\, honor\, and encourage fathers and father figur es whose love\, leadership\, and presence help shape strong children\, hea lthy families\, and thriving communities. Through storytelling\, education \, and community engagement\, these events will highlight the lasting impa ct that fathers have on future generations.
