Washington D.C. area and now lives in Greenbelt\, Maryland. Her parents a
re from El Salvador and moved to the U.S. in the 1980's. She has been an e
lementary school reading teacher since 2018. She earned her Master of Educ
ation degree in Reading Education with a reading specialist certification
from Loyola University Maryland.
\n
Rosa and her students love readin
g time and enjoy discussing what makes a book special. This influenced Ros
a to share her student's favorite books on her social media platforms Inst
agram\, Facebook\, TikTok\, YouTube @Msromerosbookshelf and Twitter @Msrom
erosbooks.
\n
As a writer\, she writes stories and poems with charact
ers that all children can relate to. Growing up\, she noticed a lack of mu
lticultural children's literature with story characters that looked like h
er or people she knew... so now she is writing them so other children can
relate.
\n
I Wear Long Hair and Tengo mi cabello largo are her debut
children's books.
\nhttps://pgcmls.libnet.info/event/16918784
