Join us for readings from his work and a d iscussion about poetry as Arthur Sze shares insights into a career spannin g five decades. Sze is a poet\, translator\, and editor\, and in 2025 was named the 25th U.S. Poet Laureate. Known for weaving science\, philosophy\ , and the natural world into poetry of striking precision\, his 12 poetry collections include the National Book Award-winning Sight Lines a nd the Pulitzer finalist Compass Rose.
\nSze&rsquo\;s poetr y has been translated into 15 languages. He received the 2025 Bollingen Pr ize for lifetime achievement in American poetry\, the 2024 Rebekah Johnson Bobbitt National Prize for Poetry\, the 2024 National Book Foundation Sci ence + Literature award\, the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize\, the Shelley Memori al Award\, the Jackson Poetry Prize\, a Lannan Literary Award\, and a Gugg enheim Fellowship\, among others. A chancellor emeritus of the Academy of American Poets and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences\, Sze was the 2023&ndash\;2024 Mohr Visiting Poet at Stanford University. H e is professor emeritus at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA)\, and was the first poet laureate of Santa Fe\, where he lives with his wife \, the poet Carol Moldaw.
