There will be 24 seats available 15 minute s before the program\, and seats will be given out on a first-come\, first -served basis. All levels of players are welcome!
\nMahjong is a&nbs p\;tile-based game developed in the 19th century in China\, which has spre ad worldwide since the early 20th century. Four players commonly play it w ith 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. The game and its re gional variants are widely played throughout \;East \;and Southeas t Asia and have become popular in \;Western countries. We will be lear ning and playing the Hong Kong version of Mahjong.
\nIn the first ho ur\, we will become familiar with the tiles\, rules\, and how to set up th e game. In the second hour\, we usually get through 2-3 hands\, allowing p articipants to practice what we have been taught.
