\nLisa Solomon received her BA in Practice of Art from UC Berkeley in 1995 and her MFA from Mills College in 2003. She has b een a working artist and educator &ndash\; as both a college professor and workshop facilitator &ndash\; for 20+ years. Her mixed media works and la rge scale installations that revolve thematically around personal history\ , re-interpreting domesticity\, the nefarious line between ART and CRAFT a nd color theory have been exhibited in galleries\, art fairs\, and museum exhibitions (inter)nationally. She is the illustrator of 20 Ways to Dr aw A Chair (Quarry Books 2015) and Draw 500 Everyday Things (Quarry Books 2016)\, and author of Knot Thread Stitch - Exploring Cre ativity Through Embroidery and Mixed Media (Quarry Books\, 2012). A m onograph of her work\, Hand/Made\, was published by MIEL books in 2013. Th e work she makes tinkering in her backyard studio can be found in both pub lic and private collections. Lisa currently resides in Oakland\, Californi a with her husband\, kiddo\, a three-legged cat\, a fluffy gray kitty\, a pit-bull\, a dachshund mutt and many\, many spools of thread.
