X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Mandy Currie shares the highs and lows of
a running journey that began on the paved roads of Saskatchewan and eventu
ally led her to trails\, mountains\, marathons\, and a deeper understandin
g of her own strength. As a registered nurse\, mother\, runner\, and artis
t\, Mandy reflects on how running has shaped her confidence\, resilience\,
career\, and connection to community\, including her first-place finish i
n the Hikuri 81K in Mexico\, which qualified her for the prest
igious Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc final in France. She also speaks honestly
about supporting her sister Lisa through a 10&frac12\;-year cancer journe
y\, and how running helped her move through grief while learning that joy
and sorrow can exist side by side. This talk is about running. But it is a
lso about grit\, mindset\, healing\, and the simple power of putting one f
oot in front of the other when life asks us to carry heavy things.</p>\n<p
 >Presented in partnership with&nbsp\;Run Regina&nbsp\;|&nbsp\;GMS Queen Ci
ty Marathon</p>\n<p>About Mandy Currie</p>\n<p>My name is Mandy Currie. I
am a wife\, mother of two\, registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Ca
re Unit in Saskatoon\, runner\, Salomon Run Ambassador\, and artist&mdash\
;not always in that order.</p>\n<p>I discovered my passion for distance ru
nning in 2010\, and it has shaped nearly every aspect of my life. Through
running\, I have discovered strengths I never knew I possessed. It has tau
ght me how to push my limits\, build resilience\, and develop confidence i
n who I am\, both on and off the trail.</p>\n<p>The connections I made thr
ough the running community ultimately led me to my career in the PICU\, a
role that has deepened my appreciation for perseverance\, compassion\, and
human connection. Running has carried me through many challenges\, but pe
rhaps the most significant was supporting my sister\, Lisa\, throughout he
r 10&frac12\;-year cancer journey&mdash\;a marathon of its own. After her
passing\, running became an important part of how I navigated grief\, help
ing me find moments of joy\, purpose\, and healing while learning that gri
ef and joy can coexist.</p>\n<p>My running journey began on the paved road
s of Saskatchewan\, where I have completed multiple marathons and half mar
athons. Over the years\, running has taken me to some of the most beautifu
l places I have ever seen. Not long after I started running\, I discovered
trail running and immediately felt at home. I often say that I have prair
 ie blood but a mountain heart.</p>\n<p>I don&rsquo\;t believe I&rsquo\;ve
found my limit yet\, and I&rsquo\;m still searching for it.</p>\n<p></p>\n
