Welcome to the peaceful world of hand piec ing a quilt block! In this on-going class\, sewing mentor Maggie Kyar will explore various quilt blocks. Participants will learn how to read a patte rn\, draw the pattern pieces of each block and sew them together. At the e nd of these classes you will have enough blocks to make a throw size quilt (approximately 60 x 80 inches). We will then learn various finishing desi gns\, how to quilt and how to bind. At the end of the first class the grou p should know how to piece a 9-patch block. We will begin by meeting on th e 4th Wednesday of each month\, then decide if we want to tackle two block s per month or just continue with one block each month. \;
\nIns truction is provided free-of-charge but participants are responsible for s upplying the materials needed for the class. Please stop by the Barnesvill e Public Library before the first class to pick up a copy of the informati on packet that includes the amount of fabric needed for the project. \ ;

100 grit or finer sandpaper
- clipboard to attach sandpaper

lear ruler with 1/4" marking (some will be available to use in class)
- fabric yardage as described in the sampler information packet (3 colors
to start)
- fabric scissors or rotary cutter (some will be available
to use in class)
