Sew a quilted potholder at the JFK Library ! The Vallejo John F. Kennedy Library is hosting a start-to-finish sewing workshop making a quilted potholder using a friendship star quilt block pa ttern. We will provide a limited selection of fabrics\, but you are more t han welcome to bring your own materials if you have any you would prefer t o use. If you bring your own fabric\, please make sure it is entirely made of cotton or linen because these fabrics withstand heat the best. Quiltin g cotton is the best for this project if you have it on hand.
\nWe h ave 4 sewing machines available for the workshop. If you have your own mac hine you would like to bring\, please let us so know so we can set up the room accordingly. If you have any questions\, please call the library: (86 6) 572-7587. \;

Participants in this adult program
need to know some sewing machine basics such as threading a machine\, sew
ing straight lines\, and maintaining a quarter-inch seam allowance.\n
Weekly Schedule: \;
August 4th: Fabric selection\, cutting\, and piecing together front
\nAugust 11t h: Quilting layers together and sewing on the hand pocket
\nAugust 1 8th: Finishing the hand pocket and sewing the bias binding
