For our first class on August 5\, our arti st of interest will be Asher B. Durand. Durand was one of the greatest pai nters of the Hudson River School of painters. His landscapes are transcend ent in their almost photographic realism. Each one of his paintings captur es the essence of nature and the season in which he is painting. Students will create their own landscapes and practice specific skills
related to doing landscape work.
