 y Alliance is to promote women&rsquo\;s history and advance the goals of e
 ducation\, empowerment\, equality\, and inclusion.</p>\n<p>The Alliance wo
 rks to:</p>\n<p>Recognize\, honor\, and celebrate the cultural\, ethnic\, 
 racial\, and professional contributions of women throughout U.S. history t
 hrough research\, documentation\, exhibits\, outreach\, and community even
 ts.<br />Increase public awareness and appreciation of women&rsquo\;s hist
 ory by partnering with schools\, faith communities\, civic organizations\,
  and other community groups.<br />Encourage participation in women&rsquo\;
 s history initiatives across all 120 Kentucky counties.<br />Pursue additi
 onal goals and projects that support the Alliance&rsquo\;s mission and are
  adopted by its members.<br />The Kentucky Women's History Alliance was or
 iginally organized as the Women&rsquo\;s Suffrage Centennial Celebration a
 nd Chorus (Frankfort Initiative). Its founding purpose was to commemorate 
 the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment\, which ex
 panded voting rights for women. Today\, the Alliance continues to support 
 and promote the broader goals of the National Women's History Alliance.</p
 >\n<p>One of the Alliance's first projects was the Suffrage Chorus\, which
  performed songs sung by suffragists during their long campaign for voting
  rights. Under the leadership of founders Sylvia and Don Coffee\, that pro
 ject grew into the historical program you will experience on October 1\, 2
 026.</p>\n<p>Through music and storytelling\, the program shares the histo
 ry of the 72-year struggle for women's suffrage in the United States. Audi
 ences will hear songs associated with the movement and learn about the det
 ermination\, challenges\, and achievements of those who fought to secure t
 he right to vote. Their story is one of perseverance\, civic engagement\, 
 and ultimately\, historic change.</p>\n<p></p>\nhttps://lexpublib.libnet.i
